Online Marketing
Having a website is like winking at a girl in the dark. You know what you did, but the girl does not.
OK, if you don't like that analogy then here is another.
Having a website is like building a store in the middle of an unknown desert. Only you know of the website.
Build it and they will come.
WRONG.
Put up a one page site that says you will give out $1,000 to anyone who calls a given number. No questions asked. No tricks. No gimmicks.
Guess how many people will call the number?
ZERO. Noone will call.
Why? Because no one knows about this webpage.
Without marketing, your website does not exist.
Let's repeat that in bold.
Without marketing, your website does not exist.
No-one will know about your site and so no one will come.
So how do you bring people to your website?
Answer: Marketing.
There are many types of marketing and they can be divided into offline marketing and online marketing.
Radio ads, TV commercials, newspaper ads, magazine ads, business cards etc can be considered offline marketing.
I personally can suggest you very little when it comes to offiline marketing.
I have my expertise in online marketing.
Here are three major types of online marketing .
1. SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
The biggest advantage of SEO is the ROI (Return on Investment). A smaller investment can bring in a huge, long term profit.
The biggest drawback is the fact that it takes a long time (months to years).

2. PPC (Pay Per Click)
eg, Google Adwords
This is the first online marketing technique I would suggest. The biggest advantage of this technique is that the results are immediate.
PPC gives you a belief that there is a traffic on search engines.

3. SMM (Social Media Marketing)
Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter etc.
This can be a great strategic goal if you are the creative type and like to humanize your business.
Cross that out.
If you are serious about your business that you do need SMM.
I can't see serious online growth without getting your business involved in Social Media in the near future.
